The Centre for Psychodrama and Sociometry of Ontario is an incorporated educational institution committed to high quality training. It is the only educational centre in Ontario providing training in accordance with the guidelines of the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. The Centre offers numerous workshops and educational events to the general public, as well as students of psychodrama.
Psychodrama is defined by its founder, J. L. Moreno, as "the science which explores the truth by dramatic methods." Its goal is to increase spontaneity, the ability to handle new situations adequately and old situations in a new way. Psychodrama is powerful in creating safety, in understanding blocks and in deepening insight into the dynamics of the relationships which determine our lives.
Sociometry is the branch of social sciences, developed by J. L. Moreno, which deals with the investigation, scientifically and personally, of interpersonal and intergroup relationships. Sociometry can be used to help build family, social and business groups which work together effectively and which promote the personal development of individual members.
